Our Minister and His Wife
Bro. George E. Myers, III
Sis. (Dr.) Philena M. Myers, Ed.D

About the Myers
Bro. George E. Myers, III, has served the Church of Christ as a gospel preacher, evangelist and congregational minister for over 50years. In 2024, he celebrated 50 years of preaching the Lord's gospel. The Myers enjoy a beautiful Christian marriage and joyously celebrated 50 years of marriage in December 2021. They have one son, a former U.S. Air Force Senior Airman, now residing in London.
Together the couple are known in the brotherhood as a "team". They have lovingly been partners in the ministry for the past four decades. They have worked tirelessly in various ministries for the Church. Bro. Myers has held various minister positions in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. In addition, to serving as congregational minister, Bro. Myers has preached in over 50 congregations across the country. Additionally, he has conducted island crusades on small Caribbean islands, such as Montserrat, Nevis/St. Kitts, Dominica, Grand Cayman, Freeport, Bahamas, St. Thomas, USVI and Bermuda.
Sister Myers is a retired Pennsylvania educator. A true lover of learning, Dr. Myers holds four degrees, including a doctorate degree in Education Administration and Leadership, where her research focus was on the teaching and learning success of African American males in the U.S. public school system. She too, has served as the keynote speaker for various ladies' day programs in the U.S. and the Caribbean. She remarks, her number one "labor of love" for the church is being an active "help-meet" with her husband in the ministry. She recently published her first book, "Piety - A Woman's Journey... Dancing a Mystical Dance of Love", (December 2022, Amazon).
In 2018, Bro. Myers retired from his secular position as a Procurement Director for the nation's number one supply-chain engineering services firm. Subsequently, the Myers relocated from Pennsylvania to Florida for a "snow-free' retirement. However, the Lord had other plans for them. In 2021, Bro. Myers received the calling from the Lord and accepted a full-time position as the Minister for the Woodland Place Church of Christ, in Ocala, Florida. The couple prayed and energetically began ministering to the congregation and will continue to do the works of God in this new location.
In the fall of 2023, the Myers were blessed to travel to the Mediterranean region. Unfortunately, they were unable to visit Israel, however, they spent 3 weeks following the steps of the Apostle Paul and his four missionary journeys, as recorded in the book of Acts. This experience enhanced their knowledge and appreciation of the intense work the Apostle Paul did for the cause of Christianity.
A statement the Myers give as a reflection concerning them is: "God has blessed us tremendously in this life in many ways, however, our real life's purpose goes far beyond the earthly accolades we achieve, for we are what we are, by the mercy, grace and love of Jesus Christ, please accept us as humble servants of the Most High".
